Obama was born about 1860 in Kenya, the son of Obama Opiyo but his mother is unknown.
His wife was Nyaoke Obama (mnu), who he married in ABT 1888 in Kenya. Their five known children were Son#1 (c1885-?), Son#2 (c1887-?), Son#3 (c1889-?), Son#4 (c1891-?) and Hussein Onyango (c1895-c1979).

Per Wikipedia (Nov 28, 2009): In 1949, Onyango spent at least 6 months in Kamiti Prison. He was probably tried in a magistrates’ court on charges of political sedition or membership of a banned organisation, but the records do not survive because all such documentation was routinely destroyed in British colonies after six years. He was violently tortured to extract information about the growing insurgency.
