MenuItems Command

The MenuItems command is used to add menu items to a PopupMenuEdit cell.

MenuItems #1,<#2>,<#3>, ...

where

• #1 (and optionally #2, #3, ...) add menu items to the current PopupMenuEdit cell. You can add items in a single MenuItems command or in multiple MenuItems commands. Items containing blanks must be enclosed in quotes.

If the text to save in the GEDCOM file is identical to the text you want to display in the menu, simply enter that text for the menu item.

Sometimes it is useful to display more descriptive text in the menu but save standard GEDCOM data in the file. To handle this situation, enter any menu item as

"item text:save value"

The "item text" will be displayed in the menu, but if the user selects that option, the "save value" will be saved in the GEDCOM file. For example, the "item text" might use a localized string to support multiple languages while the "save value" will follow the GEDCOM rules for allowed settings.

Notes

1. To indicate a default setting, use two colons between "item text" and "save value".
2. If you want the save value or the default value to be an empty string, enter nothing after the colon or double colon.
